Why We Built This Site
Michigan offers several public record channels, yet each custodian answers a different question. Washtenaw County Sheriff Records keeps Sheriff reports and booking material. The 14A, 14B, 15th District, and 22nd Circuit courts maintain their own case files. Michigan State Police operates ICHAT and the Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry, while the Michigan Department of Corrections publishes OTIS supervision and custody data. The purpose of this resource is to make those divisions clear and connect readers with the official office, form, or search tool that fits the record they need.
What You Will Find Here

- Record relief: the difference between Michigan Clean Slate automatic relief and a court application to set aside a conviction
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site with no connection to a Michigan court, sheriff's office, police department, or state agency. That creates clear limits:
- We cannot run an official background check or pull a criminal record for anyone
- We cannot file set-aside applications, records requests, or any other paperwork on your behalf
- We cannot issue certified copies of any criminal record, court document, or rap sheet
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific charge or case applies to you
- We cannot promise that an agency phone number, fee, address, or procedure will remain unchanged
Only the government custodian, such as the Sheriff, a court clerk, or Michigan State Police, can issue an official criminal record or certified copy.
Search Partners
Outside providers power some search boxes. They control their own products, prices, result matching, and privacy terms. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may produce a referral fee that supports this resource. Washtenaw County Criminal History does not control the provider's results or charges, and an outside result is not an official Michigan or Washtenaw County record.
